Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us, like the eagle, we can rise above them and ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into our lives.

What is your greatest challenge right now? Jot it down. And then let it lift you higher.

I read an amazing story about an eagle that was raised among the chickens
Once upon a time, at a large mountainside there was an eagle nest with 4 large eagle eggs inside. One day, an earthquake rocked the mountain causing one of the eggs to roll down to a chicken farm, located in the valley below. The chickens knew that they must protect the eagle egg. Eventually, the eagle egg hatched and a beautiful eagle was born.

Being chickens, the chickens raised the eagle to be a chicken. The eagle loved his home and family but it seemed his spirit cried out for more. One day, the eagle looked to the skies above and noticed a group of mighty eagles soaring. “Oh,” the eagle cried, “I wish I could soar like those birds.”
The chickens roared with laughter, “You cannot soar like those. You are a chicken and chickens do not soar.” The eagle continued staring at his real family up above, dreaming that he could be like them. Each time the eagle talked about his dreams, he was told it couldn’t be done.

Then one day, a hunter was passing by and he was surprised to see an eagle living among the chickens. He went straight to the eagle, picks her up and said to her “You are an eagle and shouldn’t be living among the chickens”. ‘I’ve always wish I could fly like the birds up there, but I was told I could not’ replied the eagle to the farmer. “You can fly and I definitely will make sure you do” the farmer whispered back to her.

The hunter took her to a tree, place her untop of the tree and ask her to jump but she wouldn’t for she was scared because she has never jumped before. Then the hunter took her again to a cliff higher than the tree but yet she couldn’t move her wings to fly.

After a deep thought, the hunter carried the eagle, went to a very high mountain where other eagles are seen soaring high around and places her there. He then shouted to her “Hey Comon! You are an eagle. You can do it. See your real families up there flying. You are not a chicken, so flip your wings and fly”. After repeating these words continuously, the eagle begin to flip her wings, looking up at the other eagles in the sky, closed her eyes and bam! Up she goes. Wow! She was soaring so high with pride and excitement.

Moral: Don’t live among people who don’t believe in your dreams. They will always discourage you so that you can forever remain like they are....
