EndSarsCampaign: Kazeem O Ridwan: Oyo State Residents Should Keep Their Mouths Shut On The Ongoing #EndSars Campaign

Recently, lots of Nigerians especially the youths have been calling for the discontinuity of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). Yes, these people have their reasons, genuine or otherwise. The truth of the matter  however is that it is a debatable subject, and so, whatever points Oyo State residents have to scrap this unit, should be swallowed down hook, line and sinker because they are not in the right position to promote the call for the SARS to be disbanded.

You are disregardful and unconcerned about the power abuse by your state-owned force, "Operation Burst", and you are joining the promoters of #EndSars. Is that not absurd? Your intuition that told you to join other Nigerians requesting that SARS be dissolved cannot tell you the same as Operation Burst is freely violating Fundamental Human Rights and should therefore be dissolved too?  The case of a former student of the Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa, that was raped by a member of this joint-task force in their building in Eruwa on Friday, 29th August 2014, nobody showed serious concern about it, even though it was published in *The Nation* newspaper. Also, On Wednesday, August 16, this year, when a man was forced to suck a lady's breast in public  (in Ibadan) because they felt that what she wore was inappropriate; we didn't call for their discontinuity. There are many other vices of  these guys that we have been overlooking.

They (the security personnel) have ignored their duty as stated by the Governor on their inauguration day (i.e. to curb violence and anti-robbery). They are only harassing our young innocent civilians on account of indecent dressing. If a boy has "punk/obama" hairdo, it is improper. If a lady wears trousers, she is in trouble.
With our incapability and inability to pay the salaries of workers for over 6months, we are still keeping those guys. I know that some dumb supporters of a party/government would want to debate with me on that statement, hence, I need to slit your throat with a hook of words right now.  Take it or leave it, the state itself is breeding thugs and street hooligans these guys are meant to curb. Won't the children whose parents are unable to provide the social and educational needs as result of the state's inability to pay turn nuisance? Now tell me the essence of the 146-member squad.. Waste of money!!!

At this juncture, as a  cultured person, I will keep the remaining words because Yoruba says *"Ologbon kiiso asotan"*. However, criticism in respect to this write-up is welcome. Mind you, I'm not a member of any political party nor an antagonist for APC or the present government of Oyo State. God bless.
