The primary function of any sane government is to ensure the security and protection of lives and properties of citizens. Any government that is not all out and jealous over the lives of her citizens has misplaced priorities.

The ongoing carnage in Plateau, unrelenting Zamfara massacre, unabated ethnic cleansing in Kaduna South, mindless Killings in overdrive Taraba and dastardly pogrom escalating daily in Benue states shows the blundering, bungling, ineffective, ineffectual, inefficient state of our security agencies in the country and one is left to wonder what the commander in chief of the armed forces is doing.
As much as we do not want to pass the blame and as an objective pressure group, we are reminded of the words of a former head of state, He said “When terrorist activities extend beyond 24 hours, the government has hands in it”. We do not want to assume that the calm, unmoved, unconcerned, unperturbed, undisturbed, lackadaisical attitude of the government is evidence that the government is also an accomplice in these senseless killings.

First Massive Literati(FML) formerly known as NYM condemn the gruesome, wicked, heartless and inhumane killings going on in different parts of the country and we want to remind the government that they are elected into power to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians.
We also want to remind the President of Nigeria of the statement He made sometime ago when He said “I am for everybody and for nobody”. This is the time to show solidarity, true leadership and strong character in standing for the victims of these gruesome murders.

We can no longer afford nepotism, parochial and clannish tendencies displayed by the Presidency in leading our nation. We as a matter of urgency urge the President, Chief of Army staff, Defense Headquarters, IGP of police and every other necessary and relevant bodies to do all they can to stop these satanic, demonic and barbaric acts of killing people unjustly.
Nigerians deserve to live in peace.
